bio//
British double bassist and producer Jon Thorne first emerged in the late '90s lending his distinctive sound to electronica outfit Lamb. He has since performed with acts as diverse as Robert Plant, Charlotte Church, Laura Mvula, Donovan, Jesca Hoop, Eska, Kathryn Williams and Justin Sullivan.
He played on the Grammy nominated album Singularity by Jon Hopkins.
He currently is a member of the bands Mother Sky, Makushin and is recording and touring with Polly Paulusma.
Yorkston/Thorne/Khan have recorded a series of well-received albums for Domino Records.
A consummate sideman and collaborator, he has also written and released three albums, Manchester Road, Watching the Well featuring his mentor Danny Thompson and Homestead.
Jon features extensively on the 2024 movie soundtrack to "No Way Up."
